Between the Personal and the Political - DIY Riso Postcards

No Other Option x VOX POP

Between the Personal and the Political - DIY Riso Postcards Want to learn how to use a risograph printer and make your own postcard? Hosted at No Other Option, this hands-on printmaking workshop invites participants to explore the intersection of the personal and the political through print. Bring a scannable image, text, or material of your own as a starting point, and create a DIY riso-printed postcard that reflects your own aesthetics of politics and politics of aesthetics.

This workshop is part of the exhibition Printed Matters: The Politics and Aesthetics of Independent Publications at VOX-POP. Printed Matters invites you to experience independent publishing as both an intimate and political practice. Bringing together books, zines, magazines, and other self-published experiments, the exhibition explores how printed matter can function as a site of resistance, experimentation, and alternative knowledge production where aesthetics are inseparable from politics. Throughout its duration, the exhibition remains active through workshops on printmaking, editing, and publishing, transforming the space into a living learning environment: part exhibition, part fair, part communal gathering.

RSVP via VOX POP, keep an eye on VOX-POP’s website and socials, link will be posted on website 2 weeks before the event: €5 per participant

Archiving the Transmission of Knowledge

with Amber Zara and Asha Victoria

Join us for a Batik workshop that reveals the gaps within an archive and redefines what archiving means to us. We emphasize the importance of collective organizing in terms of knowledge, gestures, gaps, trauma, and other underrepresented voices. In this workshop, we will get our hands dirty by creating batik stamps, writing with wax, fabric dying, and experimental embroidery. We aim to bring the invisible voices to life, hoping to build a mutual exchange of knowledge between participants and to build on our collection of stories.

RSVP on eventbrite: €11,54 (incl. VAT) per participant.

Riso Walk-in

Get a one-time 15 € introduction to the RZ-300 EP Riso printer, or come back and work independently next time with your nooo-riso certification card.

Bring a printed design, found image collage, or drawing to print on our RZ-300 EP. After your first session, you can return anytime on a pay-what-you-print basis. For laptop-based designs, you can use our inkjet printer to make A4 printouts (paid at base price).

The RZ-300 EP is a second-hand, somewhat capricious model — not ideal for precision work, but perfect for learning riso and experimenting with DIY projects. It prints only A4 via its built-in scanner, with inks in Medium Blue, Burgundy, and Black.

First come, first served! When we reach capacity, we may not be able to welcome more participants. We hope to see you there — drop by with questions or to prepare for the next ‘Riso Walk-In’!

Walk-in, pay on the spot
